Get Involved > How to Start Racing

For insurance reasons you must be a Club Member to race. However, you may join as Provisional Member for one race only (Co-Driver only). The fee of $25 will be refunded when you join as a Full Member. You will then need to do a Swim Test and Competition Licence Test. Neither of these are onerous. There are plenty of used boats and motors available from Club Members and for the first season or two it is definitely wise to learn your new sport with old gear. You will do damage, you will break things - better if the gear is not new. See the FAQs to find out how much it costs to start racing.
