The River Race

Get ready for two days of exciting river racing on the upper Blackwood River.

This year, the race and practice day have changed, please see below for the details.

The River Race is held on a unique and exciting stretch of the upper Blackwood River - which is only raced in this event. The race features great scenery, both on and off the water as well as plenty of action.

The usual high water levels make for exciting racing - low water is very rarely experienced. The race also starts at the realistic time of (to be determined by race directors) - allowing for competitors to travel from Perth on the same day. There are great opportunities for involvement of the Support Crew in this race, and after the racing you can enjoy the many local attractions of the Bridgetown and surrounding area.

On day one being Saturday this day will be thepractice day of which is very important for new club members. The start will be at Bridgetown, below the Caravan Park as is the case in the Blackwood Classic 250. the finish will be at check point two (Maranup Road Bridge).

This will allow new and existing club members to taste the first 8 to 9 rapids of day one of the Blackwood Classic 250.

Day two Sunday will be the official race day where the start will be at the Sunnyside Oval and will go through Bridgetown and finish at the Maranup Road Bridge which is the normal check point two of the Blackwood Classic 250.

This race will be longer than in the past and will prepare new members of what to expect on the Blackwood Classic 250.
