RACING RULES
Start
- After your craft has passed Scrutineering, travel to Kings Meadow Oval (enter from Hill Street, Guildford) and proceed to the Start Position where the Helena River joins the Swan River.
- The motor shall not be started until the Power Dinghy or Solo craft is completely in the water and the propeller submersed.
- Two craft will start every two minutes.
- The earliest start time is 11.30 am and the last start time is 1.30 pm.
Finish
- The Finish is at PDRC Headquarters, Burswood.
- Your time finishes when you pass between the shore and the buoy 50 metres from the shore immediately in front of the Start Tower, after following the required course.
Rescue/Withdrawals
- Sweep Boats will cover the entire course.
- A Team that withdraws from the Time Trial must report to an Official at the Finish as soon as practicable and complete a withdrawal form.
- Failure to report Withdrawal is a serious breach of the Competition Rules that may cause undue stress and worry for Officials and Recovery Teams and may result in an unnecessary search. If you withdraw from the Time Trial DO NOT just pack up your rig and go home!
- A Team withdrawing from the Time Trial should raise a paddle and wait for the Sweep Boat to tow them to the Finish.
Results
- A Team must complete the entire distance on the water to be a legitimate finisher.
- Provisional results will be announced within 15 minutes of completing the course.
- The finish positions will determine the start positions for the Avon Descent. (see Start Grids)
- A Team that does not complete the Time Trial or complete the course correctly will start at the rear of the field in their Class in the Avon Descent.
- A Team that changes/modifies or replaces its craft (see Definitions) between the Time Trial and the Avon Descent will start at the rear of their Class in the Avon Descent.
